The HEATWAVE tours bring hot and vibrant music to the UK at the start of winter. Supported by Arts Council England the tours aim to bring together artists who have shared musical influences and attitudes from different countries and cultures and encourage an element of collaboration on stage.

In November 2007 HEATWAVE was proud to present the debut UK tour of VIEUX FARKA TOURÉ (www.vieuxfarkatoure.com), one of the hottest talents on the contemporary music scene. Son of the late maestro and two-time Grammy Award-winner Ali Farka Touré, his music heralds a new generation of Malian desert blues.

Sharing the billing was ZEEP - the new band from
Nina Miranda & Chris Franck (ex-Da Lata & Smoke City). Imagine Led Zeppelin, The Meters, Joni Mitchell and The Beatles jamming in Brazil with Tropicalistas such as Gilberto Gil & Os Mutantes (www.myspace.com/zeepband)

Previous HEATWAVE tours:
2006: Tcheka (Cape Verde) + Modeste (Madagascar)
2005: Justin Vali (Madagascar) + Seckou Keita (Senegal) + Marsada (Indonesia)
